Norlan Daughtrey Portrait Study. 24 x 18.
I did a portrait of Norlan Daughtrey for the Air Force sitting in an
A-7, not that he flew it. He had flown our F-100s and then gone into
the regular Air Force and flown Thuds, but I wanted to make a record
of him and the equipment as it was in the early 1970s because all of
this is going to pass now with un-manned vehicles. Within a hundred
years people will have faint memory of who we were, what we wore and
the equipment we flew. Even after that time the character of men like
Norlan will remain bright.
