The whole spectrum blazes in the western sky after a sunset. Distant
mesas turn bright blue, and the few wisps of clouds reflect the last
direct light from the sun below the horizon. Directly above the point
where the sun has set, the horizon glows orange for just a few minutes
before the slow progression from daylight to night resumes.
