Bright Angel Point, Grand Canyon. 64 x 108.
Bright Angel Point lies on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. We
arrived there in early November after the hotel had closed and watched
the canyon well up with blue shadows in the quiet of the sunset.
Seventy miles away the snowcapped San Francisco Peaks glow in the
sunlight. Another blurb about this painting: Bright Angel Point is
one the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Roz and I arrived there about
an hour before sunset in late November. There was no wind and the
whole Canyon was absolutely still. The buildings were locked for the
winter and the place was deserted with the first hint of the chill of
winter. As we sat on the lookout on the Point and watched the darkness
of the vast depth begin to well up the walls in pools of deep blue,
finally only the great butte remained lit in the breezy glow of late
Indian Summer, and the snowy tip of the San Francisco Peaks floated on
the horizon 70 miles to the South.
