In late summer the great thunderheads that appear on the eastern
plains of New Mexico glow brightly after the sun has set, and the
foreground sinks into the deep blue shadows of evening. Another time

the deep blue of twilight while a great thunderhead over Glorieta
lights up the east with the hot light of the setting sun.
