View from Cedar Ridge. 60 x 96.

This is a view of the Grand Canyon from Cedar Ridge, which is some
1500 feet below the South Rim on the Kaibab Trail, northward toward
Zoroaster Temple. Immediately left of the painting and nearby stands
O'Neill Butte. The cupped point of the Redwall near the center of the
painting is Bradley Point. Preliminary oil sketches for the painting
were done on the site. It had been a wet spring, and the terraces
were green.
