La Cueva Canyon. 30 x 48.

The vertical granite face of the mile-high Sandia fault lies east of
Albuquerque. Great slices of the earth's crust were sheared from the
uplifted mass and stand knifelike before the wall or lie in weathered
foothills to the west. La Cueva canyon cuts through them out into a
pocket of loose boulders and live oak trees. This is a view eastward
toward the mountain up La Cueva canyon on a winter afternoon.
