Twilight on the Chattahoochee. 36 x 60.

The beautiful Chattahoochee River divides Georgia from Alabama. We
were near Rood's Creek south of Columbus in a boat when the sun went
down. The sky did not exhibit the vivid array of effects we are used
to in the high desert. Yet, in its larger, softer way, it glowed like
a white opal while the forest slipped into darkness and the calm river
flowed slowly to the south.
