Yavapai Point, Grand Canyon. 24 x 56.

It was sunny and clear when Roz and I hiked down the Bright Angel
Trail past the Kaibab sandstone and then carried the paints and easel
out along the cornice of the Coconino sandstone so we could see
Yavapai Point. To the right and left of the panorama were the dark,
bluish alcoves and the bright, rough cliffs. That could not all be
painted at once, so I elected to do three paintings. (Modified
