Field Study: Cottonwoods in the Bosque, 12 x 18.

Although the Texas panhandle seems a barren, flat grassland, it does
contain gentle hollows and valleys, molded by its rivers, the Canadian
and the Red. Wherever the land dips out of the wind, with the water,
magnificent stands of cottonwoods grow. This is summertime in such a
grove. (Study date 6-1987.)
