How Summer Ends. 50 x 80.

Most summers we get clouds from the south in July and August, but
sometimes in September the flow of moist air ceases, and the clouds
disappear. The sky becomes absolutely featureless, and after the sun
goes down the twilight gradations on the horizon move from pink to
yellow to gray and finally toward blue, while the foreground turns
green and blue under the cold light from the overhead sky.
