Isle in the Molucca Sea. 24 x 30.
There are thousands of islands like this around the world, and
especially in Indonesia. Often they have a volcanic cone in the
center with more recent coral reefs growing out beneath the sea.
Fresh water is generated by the cloud that forms almost daily over the
mountain. The sea shades from a vivid deep blue through turquoise to
light green as it becomes more shallow. I fell in love with these
islands years ago, flying over endless miles of them, each set like a
jewel in the Pacific.
