Speaking Rock. 30 x 24.

In the Navajo legends about Canon de Chelly, Speaking Rock is the west
support of the rainbow that arches to Spider Rock. It is one of the
many examples of the unique style and beauty of that lovely canyon.
Here is an example of one of the many joys of representational
painting, namely, the creation of surrounding objects in the mind and
then painting their effect on the subject within the picture. In this
case, the near canyon wall must turn north on the right-hand side and
catch the sun. The reflection of that light shows on the lower face
of Speaking Rock.
