Field Study: The Alabama Shore, 8 x 12

This was painted one morning on Tommy Wiggin's boat, a bane to the
local bass population. Tommy cast every lure known to man or fish
into this alcove without success. The fish must have been suffering
depression from the previous storm. Yet the sun was glittering on the
fresh spring foliage, and all kinds of birds were singing, and the
only despondent creatures were the fish, and maybe for a short time,
