Cereus and Steuben. 18 x 20.

The Cereus blossom opens at night and by morning it has wilted.
Someone told us if we cut off the bloom at its peak, the hormones of
the plant would not wilt it and it would remain fresh for several
days. We tried it, because it is very difficult to mix good color at
night, and the next day put the bloom in a piece of Steuben crystal.
This is how it looked in the daylight.
